Help track monarchs and milkweeds in Wyoming this summer. It's free, easy, and fun for the whole family!
How to Volunteer:
1. Sign up for iNaturalist, if you haven't already.
2. Submit your observations! All observations of monarch adults, caterpillars, and eggs, as well as milkweed plants, go into iNaturalist, a citizen science web portal. It's easy to use - register, add an observation, and immediately see it on a map. (check out the how to videos below) Pictures are essential!!

3. Repeat! Keep looking for and submitting observations of monarchs and milkweeds.
THEN WHAT?
Once you submit observations to iNaturalist, they will be reviewed by the iNaturalist community of scientists and Naturalists and added to the growing database that helps naturalists from around the world understand where these wonderful butterflies and plants live.

Mission
The Monarchs and Milkweeds program is designed to work with you - community scientists across Wyoming - to gather observations of where, when, and how many monarchs and milkweed plants you find in the state. Through this, we hope to gain a better understanding of where monarchs migrate through Wyoming, at what time of year, and in what densities. We also hope to learn where and which species of milkweeds exist in Wyoming. With your help, we all can learn more about these wonderful organisms!
